摩擦

FRICTION

Friction tests determine the ease of two surfaces to slide against each other when subjected to a contact force. Two main phenomenons are generally observed during these tests: static and kinetic friction. Static friction is the force preventing an object from moving from rest, while kinetic friction is the force acting between two surfaces when they are already in motion. Using the vertical stage to apply a normal force and the other stages to apply either rotational or translational movements, the software developed by Biomomentum allows you to easily determine the coefficient of friction and the forces involved in the tests. The purposes of friction testing cover a large field of interests. For example, testing the effectiveness of a new type of lubricant or comparing the surface properties of two samples.
