The Quantum system brings reproducibility and scalability to help companies get products from the lab to the market faster. By minimizing the need for hands-on attention, the system automates cell culture in a functionally closed environment.

At the core of this system is an advanced bioreactor with thousands of hollow fibers. The bioreactor provides an expansive surface area for cells to attach to in a compact space. Throughout each automated step of the culture process, from loading the cells through harvest, the functionally closed environment remains intact. Media and waste pass through porous membranes while the gas transfer module regulates gas concentration.

The Quantum system transforms open, labor-intensive manual tasks into a closed, automated and reproducible process.

The system cultures cells with four primary phases:
System is primed as the nutrients, metabolites and
gases diffuse across the fibers in the bioreactor

Cells are loaded into the bioreactor with approximately
2.1m2 of surface area

Media exchange begins with the continuous control of
temperature, cell feeding and waste removal

Cells are harvested with the touch of a button in as little
as 20 minutes

 

Although the Quantum system automates each of these phases, lab personnel are still given a high-degree of customization. Throughout these phases, key process parameters can be monitored and adjusted to optimize the cell culture.
